Refund policy
What happens to money already paid when a publication cancels, and what happens to the site while a payment is outstanding.

Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how Press Setu actually intends to operate, and it is published early so prospective customers can read it — but do not rely on it as a settled contract. Ask us and we will tell you where it stands.
Cancelling
Tell us in writing. A monthly subscription ends at the end of the month already paid for. An annual subscription ends at the end of the year already paid for.
There is no cancellation fee and no notice period beyond the thirty days in the terms.
Refunds on the unused part
We do not refund the remainder of a monthly period, because the service was available throughout it.
On an annual subscription cancelled part-way through, we refund the unused whole months, less the difference between what you paid annually and what those elapsed months would have cost at the monthly rate. Paying yearly is cheaper because it is a year's commitment; cancelling mid-year settles up at the monthly price rather than keeping the discount.
When we refund in full
If we fail to deliver a working publication at setup, you get everything back.
If we end the arrangement for our own reasons rather than yours, we refund the unused period in full with no adjustment.
If a payment is late
There is roughly ten days of grace, with reminders to your billing contact, during which the site runs normally.
After that the site serves a notice in the publication's own language rather than disappearing, and feeds and sitemaps stop. It never returns a 404 or a 410 for an unpaid invoice: that would tell search engines the archive is gone, and a billing dispute should not cost a masthead its index.
The archive is retained for at least ninety days after suspension. Deleting anything takes a deliberate action by an operator and leaves an audit record. Nothing is removed by a silent scheduled job.
Tax
Refunds are of the amount charged, including the GST element, and a credit note is issued.
